Exotic Hamann Cars Performance

The Mercedes-Benz G 65 AMG is one of the big boys in the SUV game. It's more than capable of handling any type of off-road, rugged terrain thanks to its history with the German automaker. While it may have been mainly used to conquer rough terrains in the past, the G-Class models have transformed into more of a road-going SUV thanks to the wealthy consumers that purchase them. Mercedes-Benz has shown no plans to change the way it is built for off-road duty to create a more comfortable ride on the streets, so the aftermarket car tuning team at Hamann in Germany has developed a new upgrade program that turns the SUV into a boulevard cruiser with a large amount of power and exclusive styling upgrades. The new G 65 AMG upgrade program includes a range of new engine modifications, a wide body exterior kit, new COR Wheels and other chassis upgrades to create a one-of-a-kind G-Class.
The engineering team at Hamann in Germany first decided to focus on the massive 6.0-liter V-12 engine hiding beneath the hood. The twin-turbocharged engine packed quite a bit of potential that was able to be tapped into through the use of a new software tune. The tune alters a variety of engine parameters from fuel delivery to ignition, spark, and timing variables to create even more power than before. A new stainless steel exhaust system with side-exit design and three tailpipes finished in anodized gold-colored aluminum helps to reduce backpressure so that the SUV's turbochargers can spool more efficiently. The result is a total of 702 horsepower and 811 lb-ft. of torque being sent to all four of the COR Wheels at the front and rear axles for greater acceleration and top speed performance.
After the engine was upgraded, the team shifted their focus on the exterior of the G 65 AMG. The entire SUV was repainted and given new multi-layered paint with a special illumination feature that, when exposed to electric current, glows in the dark. The paint runs the length of the SUV and is also worn by the front and rear logos, and can be lit up with the push of a button. The front fascia was equipped with new LED lighting and a lip spoiler to generate greater amounts of downforce while creating a more aggressive look. Both the front and rear fenders were extended a total of 76 mm to give the high-performance SUV a more muscular stance when combined with the COR Wheels. A new rear bumper with diffuser insert and roof spoiler helps to build upon the more aggressive look and generate more downforce for better stability.
The final step was the chassis where the team wanted to give the SUV a stylish and comfortable ride with better handling. The suspension was modified with new comfort springs that lower the ride height and achieve a more road-worthy ride. The factory rim and tire setup was removed for new forged COR Wheels in a three-piece construction with a 22-inch diameter. Each wheel was also equipped with new Michelin tires that offer good levels of grip with a quiet ride quality.

The Hummer limousine is a modified version of the Hummer H2 model and is created in Los Angeles. A Hummer H2 is simply cut in half and a middle part is added that makes the Hummer limousine up to 38 feet long. This can be compared to the 23 feet long standard Hummer H2. When a Hummer H2 is turned into a Hummer limousine the roof is also raised six inches to make the limo more comfortable for the passengers. All non-military Hummers, including the Hummer limousine, are manufactured by the AM General Corp. of South Bend Industries. They began to offer Hummers for civilians during the early 1990's.
The Hummer limousine might look very posh, but it is still equipped the reliable and non-nonsense engine found in standard Hummer H2 cars. All Hummer limousines have the powerful Humvee 6-liter V8 engine, but with an additional alternator that will power up interior lights, fog machines etcetera. The Hummer limousine is also typically fitted with a wider pair of tires than the ordinary Hummer H2.

The Company Behind Hyundai Vehicles

If you live in North America, you likely are now very familiar with the Hyundai line of vehicles. Back in 1986, the first Hyundai was introduced to the market - an Excel - and the company's line up has changed dramatically since that time. Hyundai produces much more than cars; in fact, by the end of the last century Hyundai became one of the largest companies in the world. Let's take a look at this Korean based multinational corporation and the company behind Hyundai vehicles.
It was back in 1946, just one year removed from Imperial Japan's occupation of the Korean peninsula, that a new company was birthed in what is now known as South Korea. Hyundai Motor Industrial Company was founded by Chung Ju-yung, a child of northern Korean peasant farmers, and in 1947 Ju-yung launched a second company, Hyundai Civil Industries. Self educated, Ju-yung transformed the entire Korean economy with the tight control he exerted over his Hyundai companies.
The first Hyundai business was tasked with building automobiles while the second Hyundai company concentrated on construction. Indeed, much of modern South Korea's infrastructure was built by Hyundai in the period after the cessation of the Korean War in 1953 and on through the 1970s. Dams, an expressway, a shipbuilding yard, and a nuclear power plant were all built by Hyundai Civil Industries, while Hyundai Motors produced cars made primarily from Japanese components. Hyundai's influence stretched far beyond the Korean peninsula as the company won contracts to build an expressway in Thailand and a major port in Saudi Arabia. Clearly, Hyundai dominated the Korean market and quickly became a major player on the international scene.
By the 1970s Hyundai began to build vessels as well as shipyards and by 1986 Hyundai produced its first vehicle made entirely from Korean components. From the 1980s forward Hyundai added additional specialties including the building of semiconductors and magnetic levitation trains.
All hasn't been glossy for the company, however. Decades of labor problems culminating in new employee safety standards put in place from the 1990s on, tempered the Hyundai mystique. Indeed, up to that time the company was cited for having the worst safety standards of any corporation in the industrialized world.
Cars were another source of problems for what became known as the Hyundai Group. Although now manufacturing their own vehicles, the quality of Hyundai vehicles for the first decade was considered by automobile experts to be sub-par. Today, Hyundai vehicles and Hyundai parts are, for the most part, slightly above average in quality compared to the industry as a whole.

Japanese Automakers Rival

The Isuzu brand is one of the least known of the Japanese car brands sold in the North American market. Toyota, Honda, Nissan, Mitsubishi, and Subaru are all well recognized and respected Japanese makes while Isuzu lives perpetually in their shadow and underneath the wings of world auto giant, General Motors. Let's take a look at Isuzu and what makes this car company tick.
In 1981, Isuzu followed competing Japanese automakers and entered the US, the world's largest automobile market in terms of annual sales. Getting a late start, Isuzu had some catching up to do as each of its Japanese rivals had already established themselves in the lucrative American market. Indeed, it has always been perceived by automobile experts that if an automaker was going to be successful in the world, then they needed to establish a foothold in the highly competitive U.S. market.
Earlier models from Isuzu included the I-Mark, a compact four door sedan; the Stylus, which replaced the I-Mark; the Trooper, a compact SUV; the Impulse, a sporty two door coupe; and the P'up, a compact pick up truck.
Unfortunately for Isuzu, bad publicity and a small marketing network have limited the brand in its quest to grow. A report completed by industry watchdog, Consumer Report's, alleged that 1995 and 1996 model year Troopers, "...have too great a tendency to roll over in certain situations." Consumer Report's also gave the vehicle a rare "not acceptable" rating, something very few vehicles have ever received by the group over the years. In a previous negative report during the 1980s for the Suzuki Samurai, sales of the Samurai plunged. Indeed, Suzuki is another Japanese make with limited appeal. Could Consumer Report's findings adversely effected both companies? Some experts believe this to be true, judging by their respectively small market shares.
Eventually, many of the original models in the Isuzu line up were replaced to give the automaker a better footing in the U.S. During the early 1990s, Isuzu decided to stop importing cars, concentrating solely on pick up trucks and SUVS. An overhauled Trooper joined the Amigo and Rodeo in the Isuzu line up followed a number of years later by the VehiCross.
Isuzu's thrust into the U.S has all but stopped and, for now, they do not import a single vehicle into the U.S., relying instead on their relationship with GM, who owns 12% of the company, to sell rebadged GM vehicles as Isuzus. At last count, Isuzus sales were averaging about 1,000 vehicles per month, certainly not a sustainable figure for any car producer.
So, what keeps Isuzu going? A few things: diesel engines and GM. As a world class manufacturer of diesel engines, Isuzu provides engines for - you guessed it - GM trucks. Filling a glaring void in the GM line up, Isuzu has turned from an automotive importer to an automotive supplier; at least as far as the North American market is concerned. GM, in turn, has invested heavily in Isuzu and together they have joint ventures around the globe including a shared stake in an Australian operation.
The long term strategy for Isuzu is unclear, but it does appear that the North American market is unsustainable at least as far as the passenger car market goes. The company does have a line of commercial vehicles that are sold in the US which are favored by companies needing an economical, but compact commercial truck in their fleet. Couple that with their relationship with GM, Isuzu's future may well lay in the areas of engine supplier and commercial vehicle provider, two niches that have been successful so far for the Japanese company.

Jaguar Sport Sedan Cars

Jaguar XF is being launched as a sports sedan, and it has a 240 horsepower to support that claim. Jaguar created the XF at its Whitley Development and Design Center in the United Kingdom. And while critics claim that the XF certainly doesn't break the Jaguar mold, it definitely replicates the luxury and power that Jaguar has always been known for. Originally titled the C-XF (for concept XF), the sports sedan has veered slightly from the classic Jaguar design. The XF is built more in the style of a sports coupe, rather than a sedan. However, it does have four doors, putting it in the sedan category. Jaguar seems to be taking its cues from Mercedes, who has been developing similar vehicles for several years.
Most critics claim that the XF fails to attract a younger set of consumers. Critics do not make sense as young buyers are not the target market for executive cars.
Test drivers have said that the Jaguar XF is incredibly powerful, but also amazingly comfortable – Make sense.
It’s an executive Jag which is more likely to feature in a golf club car park than on the bank robbing circuit. But it’s been designed by the man behind the Aston Martin DBS, Aston Martin Vanquish and Jaguar XK. And when you see interior and the way the air-con vents open at the flick of a button you’ll immediately fall for it. A stunning-looking car with an even better interior.
The Jaguar XF raised incredible expectations as the car which – along with the Jaguar XK sports car - would blueprint the manufacturer’s style direction and help attract younger buyers to the historic British icon. And it has met those expectations in spades. Where previously the mix of fresh design and retro has been tilted heavily in the favour of the latter the Jaguar XF is thoroughly modern – and unmistakeably a jag. Jaguar designer Ian Callum aimed to combine the look of a coupe with the greater practicality of a saloon – and the car’s looks certainly meet the coupe end of the bargain.
