The Espera Sbarro automotive design school showed up to the 2014 Geneva Motor Show with a couple of their more recent creations. As usual they were pretty bonkers, and again, as usual, the cars were built by a team of students guided by their tutors.

The Sbarro Espera ES-13 Fleche Rouge (Red Arrow) is one of their more impressive designs of recent times. Some of the Sbarro concepts can be a bit too like Wacky Racers to be taken seriously – the Sbarro Autobau is a good example. But the Fleche Rouge sits perfectly on the intersection between outrageous and awesome.
Admittedly it does look a bit like the Lamborghini Aventador J, but part of that could just be the color choice. In reality the two cars are very different.
The Sbarro Espera ES-13 Fleche Rouge was styled to look a little like a Le Mans 24 Hour racer crossed with a fighter jet and a bit of Batmobile thrown in for good measure. The bodywork is made up from both fiberglass and carbon fiber panels.
Powering the Fleche Rouge concept is a mid-mounted 156 horsepower, 1.6 litre turbocharged 4-cylinder engine from the Citroen DS3. That’s not much considering how extreme the car looks. But in a car weighing just 900 kgs (1,984 lbs) it should make for an entertaining drive at the very least.
